Inter Milan, Juventus and AC Milan have been linked with Olivier Giroud in recent weeks and reports from Italy provide updates on the latter two clubs’ plans for the Chelsea player.
On Tuesday, Calciomercato stated the Old Lady have started contacts to sign the striker.
Another report from the same outlet has once again relayed these claims and explained why it is ‘possible’ for the Old Lady to take the France international in January.
Juve looked at the former Arsenal star as an alternative target and had initiated talks with him in September. Having signed Álvaro Morata in the last window, there was no need for them to take Giroud.
Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo are currently leading the Turin club’s attack and although Paulo Dybala can be used up front, the Argentine isn’t suitable for Andrea Pirlo.
It’s claimed the player will need to change clubs after seeing his playing time restricted under Frank Lampard this season.
Having turned 34 years of age in September, the website states an 18-month contract ‘could convince’ the ex-Montpellier man, as long as Chelsea don’t ‘get in the way’ by making ‘off-market demands’.
To sum it up, Calciomercato states the union between Giroud and Juve is ‘almost natural’, as long as Lampard’s side don’t make hefty demands to sanction his sale next month.
Juve will not face competition from Milan if another report from Calciomercato is to be believed.
It’s stated Giroud doesn’t convince the Rossoneri and Stefano Pioli is also satisfied with the current options available at his disposal. Therefore, Milan will hardly go in search of a new striker in January.
