Following the announcement that Antonio Conte would not be the next Tottenham manager, the pool of options for Daniel Levy is diminishing quickly.
Spurs have yet to fully replace José Mourinho, and while there was a time where it seemed like Mauricio Pochettino could make a sensational return, that disappeared when the Italian became the favourite.
However, the fact the Argentine never came out to deny the rumours, leaving that job to Leonardo, Paris Saint-Germain’s technical director, has put some doubt into his desire to fully continue in the French capital.
That, and the fact Tottenham are still without a manager, means the rumours of Pochettino’s return to London haven’t entirely died down.
They state Pochettino’s future ‘is a real topic’ in Paris, and claim that if their manager ‘states that he wants to leave’, the club would listen.
While their priority is to continue with him, ‘they wouldn’t oppose his departure’ if he asked for it.
That’s because the Qatari have a ‘dream’ named Zinedine Zidane, and they ‘very clearly are preparing an offensive if ever a window presented itself’.
First, however, the former France international wants a break from it all, but if the right offer comes along…
