Turkish side Besiktas are working on three different formulas to sign Cenk Tosun from Everton in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Takvim, who explain that the Super Lig side are working up strategies to get their former star out of Goodison Park.
They say that Besiktas want two or three additions in the January transfer window, and Tosun is one of the players they are targeting.
He’s out of contract at Everton in the summer and unlikely to renew his deal or have a regular place under Rafa Benitez, making a move likely.
Besiktas’ interest is well known at this point, and talks are reportedly being held with the Toffees over the international break.
As part of that, they have reportedly brought three ‘formulas’ to the table to try and get a deal over the line.
The first of these is that Tosun terminates his contract with Everton, which expires in the summer anyway, and he then returns to his former club on a free transfer.
The second is for the Black and Whites to simply agree on a normal transfer with Everton, although this would be for a ‘low fee’ given his contract situation.
The latter, and least likely, is that Everton get the Turkish striker to sign an extension to his current deal, and the Toffees then loan him, as they did last season.
According to Takvim’s information, the first formula is the one that is ‘most emphasised’ at this moment in time. In other words, it’s the deal that Besiktas would like the most, which is hardly surprising.
It would require Everton agreeing to release him, though, which adds a whole extra layer of negotiations to the process.
However, there’s every chance it’s something they’re open to, given they could use the money being used on his wages better elsewhere.
