Earlier this month, we covered claims from Turkey that Besiktas could submit an offer for Everton’s Nikola Vlasic, who is currently on loan at CSKA Moscow.
On April 8th, the 21-year-old’s agent revealed his client has no plans to stay to Goodison Park next season, while he stressed the attacking midfielder wants to continue his stay with the Russian outfit.
Croatian sports newspaper Sportske Novosti claims a return to the Premier League club will force the player to settle for a place on the bench because he plays in the same position as Gylfiy Sigurdsson and the former Swansea City man has impressed so far this term.
It’s claimed the Croatia international has three options ahead of him and one of them includes extending his stay at CSKA Moscow. Zenit Saint Petersburg are also interested in Vlasic, while he is attracting interest from the Serie A as [Napoli, Inter Milan, AS Roma, AC Milan and Atalanta] well.
There is no mention of interest from Besiktas or other Turkish clubs and the report states the above three options are available in the summer.
The potential suitors are waiting for Everton to quote the transfer fee and, unofficially, it’s thought to be around €15m.
Vlasic’s impressive performances and price tag make him a valuable signing for Zenit, but his desire to stay at CSKA could make it difficult for them to sign him.
It’s claimed that CSKA, on the other hand, do not have funds available to make his loan move permanent, but they are not ready to give up on Vlasic, who has been in fine form for them this term.
The Moscow club’s leaders are ‘working hard for some time in silence’ to raise funds that will convince Everton to sanction the attacker’s sale.
Whether or not CSKA will be successful in keeping Vlasic is to be seen and if not, it could be a battle between Zenit and clubs from Italy for his signature.
