Jose Mourinho made it very clear at the weekend that he didn’t envisage any further transfers in or out of Manchester United’s first team squad. However, managers, including the great Portuguese, have said similar things previously and then gone ahead and done business.
If Spanish newspaper AS are to be believed, then Valencia certainly hope the latter scenario turns out to be the case. In their Monday edition, AS explain that Valencia owner Peter Lim is keen to get deals over the line before the window shuts.
Zenit’s Ezequiel Garay is a clear target, as is Barcelona’s Munir, and Marcos Rojo is the third player mentioned. Valencia are desperate for a renewal of their defence and Rojo’s flexibility would help them do that.
A lot would surely depend on the player, but Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reported last week that Rojo would prefer to stay at Manchester United. O Jogo’s link and interest comes from the defender’s time at Sporting.
