Following a flurry of articles suggesting that Divock Origi was edging closer to signing for Milan on a free, it all went a bit quiet.
There was promise of talks taking place around this time, and it appears they have achieved something, as Milan News give us an update on the Liverpool player’s future.
Origi, who has been at Liverpool since 2017, is out of contract in the summer, and doesn’t appear interested in renewing since Jürgen Klopp barely uses him.
The 71 minutes he has played in the Premier League this season are a perfect example of this, which is why a move to a club where he would feature more is being looked at.
Milan are prepared to offer that, and the website claim the Serie A side are ‘talking with Origi’s agents to find the final agreement’, with the negotiations said to be ‘well underway’.
All that’s left to find is the ‘agreement on wages and some bonuses’, but the Italians know ‘there is no hurry’ since Origi is with the Belgium national team and there is no need to talk to Liverpool about anything.
It’s pointed out ‘the only obstacle would be the inclusion of other clubs’, but it’s also state Origi ‘has a handshake with Milan to sign a four-year agreement at around €4m/year’.
While ‘the operation has yet to be completed’ with the Liverpool man, everything is ‘on the right track’ and it seems an Anfield exit for the forward is right around the corner.
