Trabzonspor are eyeing a move for Brentford forward Halil Dervişoğlu as they look to strengthen for next season.
That’s according to SportsDigitale’s Hasan Tüncel, relayed by Karar, who says they are looking to sign the Brentford man on loan.
They explain that after falling below expectations this season, in which they failed to defend their title, the plan is to build an ambitious team for next season.
They have already ‘pressed the button’ to build an ambitious team for next season and one of their priorities is to sign a striker after Maxi Gomez struggled to impress this season.
They have put Brentford’s Halil Dervişoğlu on their list of potential targets and would like to sign him on loan after he spent last year on loan at Burnley.
The 23-year-old is ‘willing to sign’ for the Turkish side and a ‘positive’ outcome in the transfer talks is expected ‘in a short time’.
A loan deal would make little sense for Brentford to sanction, though, as the forward’s contract expires in 2024, so they would essentially be letting him leave on a free.
Perhaps there is a plan to sign him to a new deal before that, or include a mandatory purchase clause in the loan deal to ensure they get something for the player.
