Arsenal’s Hector Bellerín is in London waiting for a call from Real Betis to finalise a move to the Spanish club.
That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who say he has a ‘full agreement’ with Los Verdiblancos about a transfer but needs to wait for them to make room in their salary budget.
He is the ‘main target’ for Manuel Pellegrini’s side on deadline day, and he has an agreement with them in place to join on loan and give up a ‘very important part’ of his salary so the deal can happen.
However, Betis need to make space in their budget to accommodate him and are working on getting players out of the squad to free up room.
That’s left Bellerín waiting in London for a call from Betis to tell him the move is on and to travel to Sevilla for a medical and whatever else.
Diario de Sevilla also cover the situation around Bellerín today and have a different stance on his potential move from Arsenal.
They confirm Betis are ‘still working’ on the possibility of bringing him to the club on deadline day.
Bellerín wants to leave Arsenal because he is not guaranteed playing time, and Betis would like to sign him on loan for the season.
They’ve already been in contact with the defender’s entourage to see if they can do a deal, but it is considered a ‘complicated operation’ for them.
That’s probably due to the wage issue that ABC have covered, with work clearly needed to get this one over the line.
