Caykur Rizespor president Hasan Kartal has spoken to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet about his former player Vedat Muriqi.

The Kosovan international has been dominating the sport headlines in the Turkish press following his impressive start to the season, form which has reportedly led to interest from the Tottenham Hotspur

Speaking to Hurriyet, Kartal said he’s pleased with the Tottenham linked player and confirmed they will get a percentage of his next transfer: “Muriqi is doing very well. If the news is true and he leaves Fenerbahce for a European club, we will get 15% of his next transfer fee. That will make us very happy, but I want him to continue to do well for Fenerbahce.”

Fenerbahce paid €3.5m plus four players to sign Muriqi from Rizespor during the last transfer window, and the 25 year old has made an instant impact for the Yellow Canaries.

Muriqi scored three goals in five games for Fenerbahce this season and added three more to his tally with his country during the recent international break.

There have been claims Tottenham have been sending scouts to get a lowdown on the player and that the Premier League side will continue to monitor him throughout the season.

Manchester United have also been linked with the player, and Hurriyet again credits both clubs with interest.

The forward is under contract with Fenerbahce until June 2023.
