Ianis Hagi won the Scottish Premiership title with Rangers in his first full season at the club.
After struggling for regular minutes in October and November, the attacking midfielder regained his place with Steven Gerrard’s side, and the Romania international’s fine displays for Rangers have caught Lazio’s attention.
The Serie A club’s interest in the player has been covered in Italian press for the past few weeks, with March 24th seeing Gazzetta dello Sport report Simone Inzaghi’s side will need €10m to get the former Genk man out of Ibrox.
These claims are now being relayed by Sport.ro and then provide their own update on this case.
The report’s title states Lazio doesn’t want to give up on Gerrard’s man as they want to sign him ‘at all costs’.
Within the article, it’s also explained the Biancocelesti are ‘willing to pay even more than €10m’, to get Hagi out of Rangers, with the most recent amount touted being €13m, although that last bit is worded to make it sound like hearsay rather than actual information.
Whether a sum in excess of €10m can convince Rangers to allow their attacker leave isn’t mentioned, but they do add Gerrard wants to retain the Romanian since they have qualified for the next season’s Champions League qualifiers.
Hagi has scored seven goals and registered 12 assists in all competitions this season for Rangers.
