Chelsea are ‘serious’ about Inter Milan youngster Cesare Casadei and plan to make a new effort to sign him in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who explain the Blues plan to relaunch after their initial offer of €8m was turned down by the Serie A side.
It’s claimed Chelsea’s goal is to ‘overcome the competition’ from Nice by improving their offer.
The Nerazzurri are looking to sell the 19-year-old and include a buyback option as part of the deal. It isn’t clear whether the west London club will accept to this condition.
Sunday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport says Inter will ‘resume negotiations’ with Chelsea for the midfielder from Tuesday.
The newspaper states Thomas Tuchel’s side are ‘now leading’ the chase for the Italy U19 international for two reasons.
It’s claimed the west London club are the teenager’s ‘favourite destination’ and this is the first reason.
The second is that Casadei’s other suitors, Nice and Sassuolo, cannot get close to the €15m fee requested by Simone Inzaghi’s side. It seems like Chelsea are ready to meet this demands set by Inter.
