It was only a matter of time following all the article that have been written since the initial loan took place: Fiorentina will buy Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira outright.
That’s what La Nazione are reporting on Wednesday, with the newspaper making it clear that the Uruguay international has proven himself enough to earn a full transfer.
Analysing all of the deals that took place in the summer, they state that, ‘barring surprises’, Fiorentina ‘will enforce’ the right to buy, which ‘will see Rocco Commisso pay €15m into Arsenal’s coffers’.
‘A contract expiring in June 2026 is ready for him’, meaning he will sign a four-year deal with the Serie A side, who have helped him relaunch his career after some serious stagnating at the Emirates.
Falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta, the midfielder was sent on loan to Atlético Madrid last season, but that move failed to produce anything substantial, as he played he a bit-part role under Diego Simeone.
A new attempt was made with Fiorentina, and that has proven far better, with it now firmly believed that the Gunners will make €15m from the deal.
