Roma’s pursuit for Arsenal midfielder Grant Xhaka is a rumour which is simply not forgotten by the Italian media, and a new update is today brought by Forza Roma.
The outlet features a piece about some pending business that the Giallorossi have for the summer market, and their chase for the Gunners man should be back on.
According to their report, Roma will make a ‘new attempt’ to land Xhaka, as they claim manager José Mourinho ‘asked several times’ for his signing, already trying to sign him from Arsenal last summer.
This seems to be the only subject that the Serie A side will have to deal with Mikel Arteta’s side in the summer, because when speaking of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Forza Roma points out he should not stay at the club.
Currently on loan and with no option to buy negotiated to this day, he has ‘disappointed expectations’, and it’s said the likelihood of a permanent move for the Arsenal loanee has now ‘reduced to a flicker’.
