Earlier this month, claims coming out of the British press stated that Arsenal want to get rid of Gabriel Jesus after this season.

The Brazil international left Palmeiras and moved to Europe in 2017, and he has a chance to return his former club in the summer window.

That’s according to sports presenter Benjamin Back, relayed by CNN Brasil, and he states Palmeiras are keen on signing the Arsenal forward on a loan deal.

The Brazilian club have qualified for the 2025 Club World Cup and their president, Leila Pereira, has set his sights on having the 27-year-old in the squad for this tournament.

Jesus’ contract at the Emirates lasts until 2027 and Back says his current salary makes it difficult for Palmeiras to buy him. Therefore, efforts seem to be ongoing to sign him on loan.

“Palmeiras are trying to bring in Gabriel Jesus on loan. It’s an objective of Leila for the 2025 World Cup. With a loan deal, Palmeiras will come in strong,” he said.

The former Manchester City man has scored eight goals and registered eight assists from 34 games for Arsenal this season, and hasn’t found the back of the net since January.

Brazilian commentator Mano is of the belief a move back to his country will benefit the Arsenal player and also the national team.

“I think it would even be a rescue for him. He’s clearly an above-average player, obviously he’ll be able to play good games,” Mano explained.

“I believe that even in the future of the Brazilian national team, and thinking about the next World Cup, I believe that Gabriel Jesus could regain his confidence.”
