Stade Brestois 29 have emerged as a candidate for Celtic’s Karamoko Dembélé, according to claims coming out of France today.
The 19-year-old came up through the ranks of the Scottish champions’ youth team before breaking into their first team at the age of 16 years.
However, he has failed to shine for the Hoops since then.
Celtic starlet Dembélé missed majority of last season due to an ankle injury and was restricted to only two appearances in all competitions after regaining full fitness.
Foot Mercato claim the winger has ‘not really exploded’ at Celtic Park since he made his way into the senior team.
Although the youngster’s talent is never questioned, their report suggests it is best for Dembélé to find a new club where he can showcase his qualities.
That could be at Brest as the Ligue 1 side are ‘one of the options studied for his future’.
It’s claimed Brest would be ‘well placed to welcome’ Ange Postecoglou’s man this summer, but there’s no mention whether the player is open to joining the French club.
Dembélé’s deal at Celtic runs down this summer and without an extension, he can leave them as a free agent.
