Brighton and Hove Albion could rival Juventus for Empoli youngster Fabiano Parisi, who the Italian side see as a potential replacement for Alex Sandro.
That’s according to CalciomercatoWeb, who cover both side’s interest in the 21-year-old today.
They explain that Juventus are ‘in need’ of reinforcements on the left and the youngster is ‘appealing’ to them.
The Italians have to ‘watch out for competition’ though, because Brighton could become interested via new manager Roberto de Zerbi.
He’s a manager who is accustomed to working with young players and ‘exalting’ them, which was part of the reason Brighton moved for him as Graham Potter’s replacement.
He will be reshaping Brighton more in his image moving forwards and there is a belief he could look at Serie A talent such as Parisi in order to do that.
The left-back is ‘young, quick’ and capable of pressing at a high intensity, all characteristics that De Zerbi likes.
Brighton would have the economic strength to compete with Juventus and even get ahead of the competition if they wish to do so.
There is no hint they are pushing that way at the minute, and Parisi is happy to continue developing at Empoli for now, but he will look for a step up in time and the Seagulls may be there ready to offer it to him.
