Covering Lazio’s plans for the January transfer window, Italian outlet Il Messaggero today reports on the club’s chances of signing Layvin Kurzawa from Paris Saint Germain.

The newspaper writes that the player was offered to the Italian side a few weeks ago, and the possibility of a loan is a rumour increasing in strength day by day.

It turns out that when covering the news, outlet Tutto Mercato Web warns Lazio and their fans about the competition from Newcastle United.

The website says club president Claudio Lotito ‘will have to guard’ against the foreign interest in the player, as ‘even the rich’ Magpies are interested in him.

Il Messaggero’s piece claims that PSG are willing to let Kurzawa go, and in case of a loan, they would continue to cover half of his salary, which stands at €2m per year. He only has one appearance for the club this season.

That’s the type of deal that Lazio would be looking for, so if Newcastle are indeed interested, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them offering something better than the Italian side.
