Haberturk report Fenerbahce are still looking to send Islam Slimani to Basaksehir in an exchange for Emmanuel Adebayor and that the Turkish club are currently waiting for authorisation from Leicester City in order to announce the transfer.

Slimani has only managed to score one league goal since joining on loan from the Premier League club last summer and subsequently Fenerbahce are looking to part ways with the Algerian international.

According to Haberturk, Slimani is also open to playing for Basaksehir and he’s now waiting for a decision from his parent club Leicester City.

The 31 year old has been in poor form for the Istanbul side this season and has failed to make a real contribution in his 14 appearances for the Yellow Canaries.

In recent weeks the former Sporting striker has been linked with a move back to England, with Fulham, Southampton and Aston Villa reportedly interested.

It’s looking very unlikely he will return to Leicester City in this window so a loan move elsewhere looks to be the attacker’s best option given his situation at Fenerbahce.
