Another day, another Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with ridiculous valuations being thrown around by Lazio, but this tidbit of information by Il Tempo on Friday is interesting.
It might come across as the most logical decision ever to some, yet the fact Claudio Lotito and Igli Tare are said to be ready to wait until after the World Cup to start negotiations with clubs regarding the Serbian might be of interest to the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid, said to be keen on his services.
Naming José Mourinho’s side once again, Il Tempo say the Lazio pair will want ‘at least’ €150m for the midfielder, a price that could go up if he has a great summer competition.
With that in mind, does that force the Red Devils to try and get a deal done early for, let’s say, €165m (or another ridiculous figure), just so they avoid that potential price hike?
It’s something to think about, even if we find it hard to believe Lazio would ever hold out for that much money considering their relatively modest finances.
Then again, the higher Lazio’s public valuation is, the higher the amount clubs will start negotiations at.
Our gut feeling is he’ll go for €120m max.
