Manchester City fullback Yan Couto continues to draw the interest from Brazilian clubs.
This time, according to Globo Esporte, it’s Corinthians who would like to sign the 20-year-old from the Premier League side.
Couto is currently loaned by Manchester City to Girona, where he only made 24 appearances this season.
The website writes that Corinthians would like to sign him this summer on a loan deal with an option to buy.
There, are, however two issues with this pursuit. The first one is the lack of Manchester City’s decision regarding the player’s future, since Pep Guardiola is set to give his word this summer.
Then there’s also the fact that Manchester City’s owners recently purchased Brazilian side Bahia, so it would be weird to see them letting the player move to a league rival.
Yan Couto moved to the Premier League side in 2020, on a €6m deal from Coritiba, but he was never given the chance of making his debut for the English club, and has been out on several loans, while he’s expected to develop his full potential.
