Premier League clubs will need to make a heavy investment in case they really want to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti.

Having scored 10 goals in 12 Serie A games this season, the 22-year-old has been attracting the interest from several sides, especially from the UK.

Only last week Everton and West Ham were linked to the player, and there’s been further interest around Europe.

But Torino are pretty aware of these approaches, and that’s why they’re planning to offer the player a new contract so they can raise his release clause.

Speaking to Radio 24 today, club president Urbano Cairo said: “We’re talking to Belotti to extend his contract until 2021.

“It could have a clause for abroad. Belotti is worth a very high value, like that of Higuain. I don’t know if there will be clubs that will try to get him.”

In case you don’t remember, Higuain had a £78m release clause which was paid by Juventus during the summer.

Is Cairo exaggerating? Probably. But Premier League clubs won’t have it any easy to take Belotti when they want to.
