Fotomac report Galatasaray are ready to take the next steps in order to secure the signature of Eliaquim Mangala.

The French defender could leave the Etihad during this transfer window, with reports in Italy claiming Inter Milan is also an option.

According to Fotomac, Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim wants to work with Mangala because the Turkish coach believes the 27 year old will bring a different element to his defence.

It’s reported Galatasaray are currently working to convince Manchester City officials and the Turkish club are also trying to get the Premier League champions to reduce the cost of the loan deal.

Galatasaray reportedly need to spend €2.5m to rent Mangala for six months, which includes bonuses, agent fees and his wages. However, the Istanbul club aren’t keen to pay this and want it lowered.

Mangala’s contract Manchester City expires at the end of the season and it’s very unlikely the Premier League club will offer him an extension.
