Following reports in the past few days claiming that Manchester United are interested in Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos, newspaper O Jogo brings some nice information on this chase.
First of all, it’s worth recalling that the goalkeeper is going through a tough time with the Eagles, as he was dropped from the team and didn’t take that very well.
Following the rumours about Manchester United wanting him to be Andre Onana’s number two, O Jogo learned that the transfer would only cost them €10m, as Benfica just want to make the same amount they spent on the arrival of Anatoliy Trubin.
Regarding the contacts between Red Devils and Eagles, it seems there have been none yet. The newspaper says just ‘echoes’ about this interest have reached the Lisbon club.
The good news is that following the arguing between Vlachodimos and Benfica manager Roger Schmidt, the goalkeeper believes the transfer out of the club is the ‘best solution’ for him.
Especially because he felt like he doesn’t have any support there.
Amid these reports about the Greek goalkeeper, Manchester United have also been linked to Fenerbahce’s Altay Bayindir.
Earlier today, it was claimed the Red Devils placed an offer worth around €7m plus bonuses for the signing, and it’s not yet known whether that’ll be enough.
