One of the big flops of the season at Juventus has been the return of Moise Kean.
The player, who was sold to Everton in 2019, never managed to find a spot for himself with the Toffees, struggling to adapt to life in England and to the Premier League.
He never seemed happy there, with all his managers struggling to get the best out of him, so when Juventus came forward with the idea of loaning him back for two years by paying €7m up front with an option to buy of €25m+ that could become permanent if he met certain criteria, the Goodison Park probably couldn’t believe their luck.
Everton sent him on his merry way back to Turin, but Max Allegri has faced the same issues, with Kean finding the back of the net just five times in 31 appearances this season.
That’s why there’s been a lot of talk of Juventus wanting to find a way out of their commitment, which Calciomercato bring back up on Friday.
They state the 22-year-old ‘could leave Turin as early as the summer’, as he would eventually cost the Serie A side €28m, and those in charge of transfers there ‘are studying a plan to launch him again with the hypothesis of a loan’.
To do that, they would need to buy him outright, as you can’t loan a loanee, which Corriere dello Sport seem to suggest is off the cards.
That’s because Juventus would rather get Giacomo Raspadori, and ‘if Juventus find a solution to resolve the agreement with Everton, they will go straight to Sassuolo’s talent’.
Their view on it is more that the Italians will try to convince Frank Lampard and co. to agree to welcome back Kean and deal with the problem themselves rather than spend €28m on him.
Why Everton would do that is beyond us, but let’s see what happens, because the general consensus is that Juventus want rid one way or another.
