Takvim claim Rangers may have to increase their offer for Martin Skrtel after recent reports the Scottish Premiership side have tabled a bid of €4m for the Fenerbahce defender.
Yesterday we covered reports from Slovakia that Rangers are closing in on Skrtel and that his withdrawal from the upcoming internationals could be due to his pending move to Ibrox.
Skrtel has been linked with Rangers and with the departure of David Bates to Hamburg Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard is hoping to bring in a central defender.
According to Takvim, Fenerbahce have ‘won the lottery’ with Rangers’ offer due to their struggles with FFP. However they are still hoping they can get €5m from the Glasgow club for the Slovakian.
It’s reported Rangers officials are likely to travel to Istanbul in the next few weeks to start official negotiations and a 3 year deal will be offered to Skrtel.
Fenerbahce need to sell players before they can recruit this summer and the offer from Rangers is tempting for the Turkish club.
His sale would also enable the Turkish giants to get Skrtel’s €4.5m a season salary off their wage bill.
