Over the weekend, we covered all the bits and bobs of news coming out of Italy regarding the future of Roma’s Leandro Paredes, and the apparent interest from Liverpool in his services.

The defensive midfielder has been an alleged Jürgen Klopp target for around a year now, and with news the 22-year-old could be sold, it isn’t surprising to see a potential move to Anfield being reported.

Il Messaggero on Monday report Paredes has now become a target for Juventus in Italy, with the Serie A leaders having already made a bid for the player in the form of a €4m loan with a view to buy at €16m in the summer.

Considering Roma, were they to let their young defensive midfielder leave, would want the money now rather than in the summer (they’re trying to sign Grégoire Defrel from Sassuolo), this offer has been put on standby for now.

The Italian newspaper further add Luciano Spalletti and co. are currently waiting on Liverpool, as well as another Premier League club, to make another move for Paredes, which you would think they would favour ahead of selling him to one of their main rivals.

Considering Corriere dello Sport mentioned both Tottenham and West Ham over the weekend, you can probably bet said club being one of the two, but, to be honest, it could be pretty much anyone capable of spending upwards of €20m on a new, shiny defensive midfielder.

Our guess? Paredes either stays at Roma, or goes to Juventus.
