This month, we’ve seen reports from Brazil claiming that Fulham reopened talks with Fluminense to sign André.
It was claimed that following the interest from last year, the Whites resumed negotiations and could be about to make an official bid.
With the transfer deadline approaching, Globo Esporte now features a story about the midfielder’s situation, and it seems Fulham haven’t placed their offer yet.
The outlet explains that Fluminense are living decisive hours for the player’s future, as they expect him to be the biggest sale in their history.
The problem is that they demand €35m, and since no official bids arrived at their table, they’re starting to believe no clubs will offer that in the winter market.
It’s confirmed that approaches have arrived from England, though, so the move isn’t ruled out yet.
This week, Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt spoke to the local media about the transfer market. He explained André’s situation and confirmed that there’s the possibility he will be sold before the end of the window.
“We’re inside the club, we know what happens here. You might get a surprise and he’ll leave in the next 24 hours. Or it could be that one arrives in the middle of the year for him to leave. I think it will happen by the middle of the year, because it’s important for him and for the club financially,” said Mario Bittencourt (via Globo Esporte).
“I always repeat: there is a smaller proposal for the club, which is good for the player, and one that is good for the club and bad for the player. His head is very good, and that’s what I worry most about. He expects to go, because he fulfilled an agreement to stay, and I also fulfil agreements.”
