Ki-Jana Hoever’s failure to break into the Wolves first-team has seen him loaned out three times now, on each occasion trying to gain experience to help him develop.
The 22-year-old has spent a season and a half on loan at Stoke City, having previously also spent a stint at PSV Eindhoven.
Even at this point, he’s not on the verge of breaking into the Wolves first-team and an exit is quite close.
L’Equipe state that the ex-Liverpool man is about to join French side Auxerre. They are, it is reported, ‘very close to welcoming’ the Dutchman to the club, with his current deal at Wolves to run out in the summer of 2026.
The report doesn’t mention whether it would be a loan move or a permanent transferbut considering the time left on Hoever’s contract, it could well prove to be a loan deal just like the deal with Stoke City.
There is no confirmation on that but with Hoever having become a regular in the Championship last season, he should be aiming to play regular first-team football at Auxerre too.
