On Monday, we covered claims from Portugal which stated FC Porto had held talks to sign West Ham United’s Luis Guilherme.
The Dragons weren’t able to complete the operation on deadline day and the winger is still at West Ham.
UOL journalist Felipe Silva took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report why Porto were not able to sign the West Ham player.
He claims the Portuguese club had ‘verbally agreed to buy’ the 18-year-old, likely with the Hammers. Silva makes no mention of the details of the reported agreement, but it may not matter now.
Despite the agreement, Porto didn’t enough time to sign the Brazil U20 international due to the regulations of the Portuguese federation. The journalist says as per the regulation, the player had to be on the Portuguese soil by midnight.
Guilherme didn’t have enough time to fulfil this and therefore, his move to Porto collapsed. The South American has played 48 minutes from six league games this season.
Earlier on Tuesday, we covered claims from the Dutch press that Feyenoord could sign Guilherme on loan as the transfer window in the Netherlands is open until later today.
