Udinese could turn to Watford again this summer, should they be forced to replace Gerard Deulofeu at any point.
That’s according to Tutto Udinese, who say the Italian side may look to take advantage of their link to Vicarage Road to sign either Joao Pedro or Ismaila Sarr as a replacement for the Spaniard.
Deulofeu has been linked with a move away from Udinese this summer after impressing in Serie A last season.
There’s been no move for the 28-year-old as yet but Udinese are fearful of it happening, even late in the window, and they would need to find a replacement.
The ‘solution’ to that problem, should it arise, could once again be ‘synergy with Watford’, according to Tutto Udinese.
They say the Pozzo family could use their influence at Vicarage Road to take Joao Pedro or Ismaila Sarr to Italy to fill the hole left behind by Deulofeu.
The latter had looked destined to stay in the Premier League and leave this summer but that hasn’t happened and the website argues that Serie A would be a ‘much more interesting stage’ for him than the Championship.
In other words, a season in the top flight in Italy would be much better for him to secure a move elsewhere than a season in the Championship would.
It all depends on Deulofeu leaving Udinese first, which is yet to happen, yet the idea of another Pozzo special with Watford is being floated if it does.
