Bayern Munich have been urged to take advantage of Chelsea’s precarious situation to get Kai Havertz this summer.
The Blues currently find themselves amid a takeover battle, with Roman Abramovich forced to sell after being sanctioned by the UK government.
There are several bidders for the club, and whilst there’s no indication of cut-price sales under any new ownership, there is a fear that several stars could depart.
And according to BILD journalist Raimund Hinko, Bayern should be looking to take advantage of the situation to get Havertz.
He believes that the German star should be at the top of the list if Robert Lewandowski leaves the club this summer and Bayern should be ‘helping themselves’ to Chelsea for Havertz.
According to Hinko, the German giants could ‘take wonderful revenge’ on Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia, who has ‘danced on your nose’ and ‘shown you up’ during negotiations for Callum Hudson-Odoi a few years ago.
She even ‘made fun’ of the club, and now things are in ‘danger of falling apart’ in London; it’s time for payback in his eyes.
Bayern should ‘have no qualms’ about doing so as the English have ‘laughed at you with all their money’ over the years.
Not making a move for Havertz would be ‘negligent’ as far as he is concerned as the player is ‘astonishingly mature’ at 22 and can operate as a striker, false nine, number ten, on the wings or even deeper in midfield. In Hinko’s words, ‘a giant through and through’.
Even if Bayern have to pay €80m, that would be a fair price, especially when they’ve paid the same for Lucas Hernandez and €40m for Dayot Upamecano. In that light, Havertz ‘would be a bargain’.
Signing him would also ‘make the wish’ of Bayern patriarch Uli Hoeneß, who wants more German internationals playing for the Bundesliga giants.
As far as Hinko is concerned, ‘there is room for Havertz in every position,’ and Bayern would be remiss to not try and take advantage of Chelsea’s situation to get him.
