Despite his season at West Ham United being over, Gianluca Scamacca remains in the headlines for the upcoming transfer window.

That’s because his future with the Hammers is currently in doubt, as the player hasn’t settled as expected and has generally struggled for form, injuries aside.

David Moyes has never really seemed to trust him at West Ham since his expensive arrival, and while he might have been trying to ease him in, the return just hasn’t been there, with talk of a return to Italy growing stronger by the day, the latest of which comes from journalist Paolo Bargiggia, relayed by Area Napoli.

Speaking to News Superscommesse, he was asked about the kind of business AC Milan should do in the next few months, with his response immediately urging the Serie A side to go for Scamacca.

He said: “Milan must aim to buy one or two strikers for next season. I would advise the Rossoneri to take Scamacca. An Italian footballer with a desire for revenge. I would try to get him on a year’s loan from West Ham.”

The 24-year-old signed for West Ham in the summer for €36m, only to score eight goals in 27 games, three of which came in the Premier League.

Prior to that his record at Sassuolo was of 16 goals in 41 games, with one assist.
