AC Milan have been urged to make a move for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, who would be an immediate improvement for them.
That’s according to Demetrio Albertini, who believes the Chelsea man should be the number one target for the Italian champions moving forwards.
Broja returned to Chelsea this summer from a successful loan spell at Southampton last season but has found himself on the fringes of the squad so far.
It’s remained that way under Graham Potter, who has continued to favour the experienced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up front.
So far that’s working out, leaving Broja playing a substitute role at best while the Gabon international continues to score.
He’s subsequently been linked with a move away, as he was for much of the summer, and AC Milan are believed to be one of his suitors.
They’re currently fighting off interest from Chelsea for forward Rafael Leao but reports in Italy have made it clear the Blues could include players in a potential deal for the Portuguese star and Broja is at the top of the list.
While that’s not a deal Albertini is specifically backing, he does believe Milan should be targeting Broja regardless.
“With an attacker within reach of the club’s coffers, but capable of making a difference immediately,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport when asked how Milan can improve.
“Giroud is not eternal, the same goes for Ibra. Until there is the opportunity to invest like the great ones in Europe, it is necessary to find the talents who do not find space in the big names, as Juve did at the time with Morata.
“I think of Chelsea’s Broja, for example.”
