Even though the main focus in the European media has been on Erling Braut Haaland, Red Bull Salzburg had two other players who also impressed in the first half of this season; Takumi Minamino and Hwang Hee-chan.
Minamino agreed to join Liverpool, while the South Korea international has allegedly caught the attention of Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Telegraph were one of the first publications to report Wolves’ interest in the forward.
Hamburger Morgenpost have done a roundup about the claims linking the 23-year-old with a move to the Premier League club.
Sky Sports reported Nuno Espírito Santo’s side ‘want’ the Red Bull Salzburg star, who is valued at £23m by the Austrian side.
Subsequently, Austria’s Krone have decided to look at the recent reports linking Hee-chan to Wolves. They state Salzburg are unaware of any rumours regarding the Asian’s exit in the winter market and the player is expected to stay with the club beyond the January window.
Red Bull Salzburg sports director Christoph Freund also made the situation regarding Hee-chan very clear: “He is in great demand. He will also play in Salzburg in the spring.”
