Roma could look to ‘take advantage’ of Everton’s precarious situation and make a move for Andre Gomes this summer.
That’s according to AS Roma Live, who say the Portuguese midfielder could be the man Roma turn to to replace Jordan Veretout.
They explain that the Frenchman could be on his way out of Rome this summer after he fell down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.
If that happens, which is looking increasingly likely, the club will have to find a replacement in the summer, and that name could come from Everton.
They are having a ‘difficult season’ and are only one point above the relegation zone after defeat to Burnley on Wednesday.
They’re in very serious danger of relegation, but even if they can avoid it, there is a sense there will be a clearout of the squad.
And Roma could ‘take advantage’ of that fact by ‘making a survey’ for Gomes to see what price the Toffees would be willing to sell at.
He’s seen as a player who would be the ‘perfect replacement’ for Veretout, and Everton have valued him at ‘around €20m.’
There’s no mention if this is a figure Roma would pay, or be willing to pay, just that he is a name on Tiago Pinto’s list to ‘take into consideration’.
