Having arrived at Leicester City from Manchester City in 2017, Kelechi Iheanacho has been forced to settle for a limited role with the Foxes as Jamie Vardy has long been leading their strike force.
The Nigeria international has started in 30 league matches since the start of the 2017/18 season and two of them have come in this campaign.
Brendan Rodgers has used the 24-year-old in the Europa League this season, where he scored three goals and registered three assists in six matches.
Iheanacho’s performances has seen him make it to RB Leipzig’s January transfer list, according to this week’s edition of SportBild.
The Bundesliga side lacks a striker who can score goals and pose threat to the opposition as summer signings Alexander Sørloth and Hwang Hee-chan haven’t convinced so far.
They currently sit third in the table, level on points with Bayer Leverkusen, who are second and four points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche has confirmed “We don’t do anything in winter [market].”
According to the report, it is difficult for Leipzig to sign a new striker without money. However, they could look at the option of taking players on a ‘lightning loan deal’, despite Krösche’s comments.
Leicester’s Iheanacho is one of the three targets looked at by Nagelsmann’s side.
SportBild only state the Foxes frontman is included in Leipzig’s list, if they decide to sign a striker on a loan deal. There’s no mention if either Iheanacho or Leicester are ready to accept a temporary deal in January.
