Earlier today, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Juventus’ Matias Soulé has ‘said yes’ to joining Leicester City this summer.

It was also reported the Foxes are ready to formalise an offer of €25m plus €5m bonuses, while the Serie A side can sanction a sale if they raise the fixed fee by €5m.

Another Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera claims AS Roma are trying to snatch the 21-year-old from Leicester’s clutches.

The Argentina U21 international starred during his loan spell at Frosinone last season, where he scored 11 goals and registered three assists. This has convinced Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi to include him in his target list for this window.

Soulé is very close to Roma’s Argentine duo of Paulo Dybala and Leandro Paredes, and they have often asked his compatriot to join them at the Stadio Olimpico.

Leicester are interested in the attacker and they are willing to offer €35m, likely including bonuses. Roma won’t be able to match it, and can’t offer over €20m including bonuses. Despite this, they feel they have a card to play in order to beat Leicester to sign Soulé.

Juve manager Thiago Motta likes Roma’s Stephan El Shaarawy, and the newspaper says the Giallorossi can offer him plus money to the Old Lady in exchange for Soulé.

Whether that’s enough for them to sign the South American remains to be seen.
