Earlier on Wednesday, we brought you the latest from Brazil regarding Grêmio’s Everton and Manchester City, and it wasn’t all that exciting.
We mean that in the nicest way possible, because while Pep Guardiola’s side are indeed interested (having been in touch with the player’s entourage), no talks have taken place with the Brazilian side.
The other heavily involved team when it comes to these rumours are Milan, still riding the high of pipping everyone to Lucas Paqueta, who has performed admirably since his arrival.
Corriere dello Sport have an article on Milan’s interest in Everton, and they mention Manchester City, whom they state are ‘particularly interested’ in the Brazilian.
With this in mind, the newspaper believe Leonardo, the Italian side’s director of football, could travel to South America in the next few weeks to have a face to face conversation with Grêmio in order to speed things up.
Just like Paqueta, Milan and their board want to try and pluck the talent out of Brazil before anybody else.
Everton is said to be top of their list, but if they fail to attract him, players such as Gerard Deulofeu and Allan Saint-Maximin will become their plan B and C.
