Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa suddenly became a big topic in Brazil, as clubs started to get interested in signing him ahead of the January transfer window.
The player is currently loaned to Olympiakos, but as he fails to impress in Greece, some sides have been encouraged to make an attempt to bring him back to his home country.
Atlético Mineiro are apparently those leading the race, and Goal Brasil today shares some updates on their negotiations with Nottingham Forest.
It’s said the Tricky Trees currently demand around €4m for the sale. The Galo believe it to be too much, and currently negotiate to bring that down to something around €2m.
Atlético are said to be ‘confident’ of a deal, especially because Scarpa himself is considering the comeback to Brazil.
Meanwhile, journalist Jorge Nicola shares news on Palmeiras’ interest in bringing back the midfielder from Nottingham Forest after they lost him on a free in December, with the player deciding to sign for the Reds as a free agent.
The report claims the Verdão have no intention of making a big investment in his comeback, and the purchase is ‘practically ruled out’. The only chance of signing him would be on a loan deal.
That definitely gives Atlético a big advantage, who are at least willing to put cash on the table to get him.
