AC Milan can expect a ‘duel with Arsenal’ should they make a move for Olympiacos’ Mady Camara this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say Milan have identified the defensive midfielder as a target this summer.
The Italians plan to ‘reinforce and rejuvenate’ the squad, but CEO Ivan Gazidis is set to impose a salary limit at the club, meaning they need to find players who fit into that plan.
Camara is one such player but, they are not the only club interested, with it stated that a fight with Arsenal for his signature ‘is to be expected’ should they make their move.
This is not the first time Arsenal have been linked, with reports in Greece yesterday suggesting they were ‘making enquiries’ over a €25m move and Olympiacos would struggle to keep hold of him.
His agent has certainly hinted that there are plenty of suitors, revealing that his client has ‘many’ options for him this summer.
“Many European clubs have shown great interest in Mady,” he told Calciomercato.it.
“But we want to see first how the season will end with Olympiacos. At the moment he is happy in Athens and wants to win trophies before making any choice.
“There is not a favourite country or league to go to because the main issue for him is to play in a great team, continue to improve and win titles. This can happen in Italy as in England or Germany.
“Valued at 25 million euros? With the crisis that is affecting the whole world and not only football, we cannot know what the budget of the clubs will be, but they will probably go down. So today it is difficult to say a price.”
