After some more rumours yesterday, it seems there’s finally someone in Portugal talking sense regarding Adrien Silva’s departure from Sporting this summer.

On Monday it was claimed that Adrien has snubbed West Brom because he’s confident Tottenham are set to turn up with an acceptable offer.

Correio da Manhã think differently, and publish claims on Tuesday explaining Sporting are going to have problems selling Adrien if they don’t reduce their price from €30m. It’s not believe Tottenham, West Brom, or anyone else will hit such a figure.

As the Lisbon side have signed Bruno Fernandes from Sampdoria as a possible replacement for Adrien, manager Jorge Jesus has been using the youngster and leaving the captain on the bench, as he needs to prepare the team for the season and picks players he knows he’ll be able to count on.

And as pointed out by Correio da Manhã, that’s the kind of thing which can drop Adrien’s market value, which leaves Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho in a dilemma. He either accepts a €25m offer for the player or risks his value dropping further.

The newspaper claims Adrien’s destination ‘should’ be England, especially because of his will to play in the Premier League. Tottenham are said to be most likely to get him, even though West Brom are still in the race.
