The loan spell that Tottenham Hotspur fullback Sergio Reguilon is having at Atletico Madrid is certainly not going as expected.
With only 21 minutes played this season, the Spaniard is struggling with pubalgia, and unable to even try to prove himself at the La Liga side.
So as Estadio Deportivo today writes about his situation, they claim that Atletico Madrid are actually thinking of ‘breaking the loan with Tottenham’ and send him back to London.
That’s said to be something suggested by some members of the technical staff and the decision is with their board.
However, the situation is said to be ‘very complicated’, as Spurs are not willing to pay for the player’s salary this season.
That’s why it’s said that a third club could be involved, because ‘from the capital’, there is news that Real Sociedad are attentive to the situation.
Therefore, Atletico Madrid could send them the player and continue paying for his wages.
It’s quite interesting how Estadio Deportivo claim Tottenham don’t want the player ‘under any circumstances’, even though he has a contract with them running until 2025.
This means that Real Sociedad could indeed be the solution for all parties here.
