Rather unimpressive under Max Allegri this season, Juventus are going to need to rebuild in the summer.
A lot of it will be about replacing Paulo Dybala, who will be leaving on a free at the end of the campaign, but another area they need to address is at left-back.
Alex Sandro is no longer the player he once was, which is why the Serie A side are looking abroad at various options, with a Chelsea player in ‘pole’ in their plans, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
That man is Marcos Alonso, who currently is the starting player on the left of Thomas Tuchel’s defence at Stamford Bridge following the injury suffered by Ben Chilwell earlier in the season.
His contract with Chelsea expires in 2023, meaning this summer will be one of the last chances the Blues have to make some money from his sale, and Juventus could be willing buyers.
He’s one of two players at the London club the Italians are looking at, because ‘among the alternatives is the usual Emerson Palmieri’, who has been ‘long courted by the Bianconeri’.
The Italy international is currently out on loan with Lyon, but he is expected to return to Chelsea once the season ends, at which point they are likely to try and sell him, since he has never managed to fully break through at the Premier League.
Other than those two, Owen Wijndal, Andrea Cambiaso and Raoul Bellanova are also options for Juventus in the summer.
However, it does appear like Chelsea will be their first port of call.
