According to Ajansspor’s Ekrem Konur, Fenerbahce are in talks with Manchester United for defender Marcos Rojo.
Konur claims the Istanbul side have identified Rojo as a target as they look to bring in a central defender before the Turkish transfer deadline.
Fenerbahce want to sign a left-sided defender, who can also operate as a left-back and in recent weeks they’ve been making attempts to sign AS Roma’s Aleksandar Kolarov. However, their approaches for the Serbian have been dismissed by the Serie A side.
It’s claimed the Yellow Canaries are looking to give Rojo €2.5m a season and they are hoping Manchester United will be lenient and loan him for free.
The former Sporting Lisbon player doesn’t seem to be a part of Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s future plans and a temporary switch away from Old Trafford could be on the agenda.
The Argentina international was close to joining Everton before the English window closed but an agreement couldn’t be reached between the two Premier League sides.
The 29 year old still has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford.
