About a week ago, we covered an article from Holland where it was pointed out that Luka Ilic wasn’t having the best of time at FC Twente.

Sent there by Manchester City to get some game time, the 22-year-old has barely featured for the Eredivisie side, appearing just five times in the league, with three of those being starts.

The Etihad loanee hasn’t even made the match day squad for the games against Feyenoord and Go Ahead Eagles, which led to a journalist stating the player was simply ‘wasting away’ at the club.

That isn’t what Manchester City will have wanted, and Tubantia in Holland are now reporting that ‘there is a good chance that Luka Ilic will leave FC Twente during the winter break’.

In fact, Twente are ‘now in talks’ with City and the player’s management, meaning all parties are looking to terminate the loan early in order to likely send him elsewhere, where he would play a bit more.

It’s always a shame when these deals don’t work out, but it’s best to call it quits at the next opportunity if everyone is unhappy with the situation.
