Sabah claim Fenerbahce are in talks with Chelsea to sign Danny Drinkwater ahead of the January transfer deadline.

It’s reported the Turkish club are looking to sign at least one midfielder in this window with Drinkwater now an option. The Yellow Canaries have also been linked with Leicester City’s Adrien Silva in recent weeks.

However, Sabah say Drinkwater is looking to stay in the Premier League but if no offer arrives from England, then he will consider the option of joining Fenerbahce.

The Turkish newspaper state Fenerbahce are ready to wait until the final days of the transfer window to sign the Chelsea man.

It seems the former Leicester City player has no future under Maurizio Sarri and he’s yet to feature for the club this season. Drinkwater’s only appearance for Chelsea this campaign came in the Community Shield.

The player is under contract with the club until June 2022.
