RB Leipzig are taking time over their decision to buy Kosta Nedeljkovic from Aston Villa on a permanent basis.
That’s according to Sky Germany journalist Philipp Hinze, who reports that the German side are yet to make a decision on a purchase clause on the Aston Villa loanee.
They have a clause to buy the defender for €10.5m this summer but that is valid until June, and they are yet to activate it. Other projects at the club have now taken higher priority than him.
Had they qualified for the Champions League, they might have now already exercised the option to buy him from Aston Villa. Now they need to be more careful with their resources, so other decisions have to be made first.
A permanent deal is still possible as Leipzig are a big fan of Nedeljkovic, and he feels very comfortable in Germany after a successful loan spell there since joining in the January transfer market.
But everything is still open on the matter, with the failure to qualify for the Champions League leading to a change in plans.
