Jarrad Branthwaite’s performances for Everton this season are ‘all thanks’ to PSV Eindhoven, who are now taking credit for his rapid rise.
That’s according to Voetbal International journalist Bart Kruijt, relayed by PSV Fans, who has covered the defender today and how his impressive displays this season are all thanks to the Dutch club.
Branthwaite has established himself as one of the starting centre-backs for Everton this season, being brought in by manager Sean Dyche to partner James Tarkowski early in the campaign.
That’s been a smart decision from the Toffees boss, with Branthwaite quickly proving to be up to Premier League level and earning rave reviews for his performances.
He’s continued his steady rise from last season, when he was on loan at PSV Eindhoven for the season after joining them in the summer.
He was sent to the Dutch side when it was made clear he was not a part of then Everton manager Frank Lampard’s plans, with the decision to instead send him out to get regular playing time and continue his development.
That is something he managed, making 36 appearances for them in all competitions, including in Europe.
That experience has helped him to establish himself back at Goodison Park and Kruijt thinks his development is all thanks to the Dutch club.
“He has played 90 minutes in nine of the first 11 games so far this season and he is playing an important role in Everton’s progress,” he said.
“The defender is praised for his speed, insight into the game and ability to play football. Branthwaite is quite two-footed and good with both short and long passes.
“He also has the right body for Premier League football and can hold his own in the personal duels with the powerhouses who are at the point of attack for opponents.
“According to the tabloids, Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in the man of the moment. And all thanks to PSV.”
