Roma have made a ‘swoop’ for Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, and a meeting is planned to discuss a deal with Fabio Paratici.
That’s according to Roma Giallorossa, who say the Italian side have turned their attention to the Frenchman after managing to get Paulo Dybala.
Their focus is now on improving the midfield, and they’ve turned their attention to Ndombele, who Jose Mourinho knows well from his time at Tottenham.
They have ‘set their sights’ on the midfielder, who has also been offered to Lazio, although they’ve yet to make their move.
That’s why Roma have entered the fray, and Tiago Pinto has a meeting planned with Fabio Paratici, who will be in Milan this week.
The Tottenham chief is keen on a deal for Nicolò Zaniolo, who could be a part of the deal for Ndombele. Or, the two clubs could reach an agreement that sees the two players swap clubs in separate transfers.
Roma are hoping to sign Ndombele on loan with a mandatory redemption, although the fee to sign him is described as ‘frightening’.
At the moment, there is no talk of an exchange with Zaniolo, and Roma continue to demand €50m for him. That’s a figure they’ve also sent to Juventus.
The idea, though, is that Roma could sell Zaniolo, and that would give them the money to then ‘make the Ndombele coup’.
One potential roadblock is that Zaniolo does not want to leave Italy, but that is a problem to be addressed when Tottenham and Roma meet this week.
