Sevilla ‘suspect Aston Villa will return’ for defender Marcos Acuña in the January transfer window and will welcome any potential bids for him.

That’s according to Mucho Deporte, who say the Spanish side are tired of the Argentine and happy to get rid of him if any offers are made.

They explain that the left-back is not having an easy time at the club, with his season yet to get started despite it now being the middle of November.

Acuña is not comfortable with his situation and doesn’t feel happy at the club, a sentiment that started int eh summer when Aston Villa came calling for him and tried to make a deal happen.

They offered around €5m plus variables for the world champion but was considered too low for a player who was considered a fundamental part of the manager’s plans at the time.

That’s now changed and the ‘club has had enough’ of the player, considering the situation with him ‘tiring’ and difficult to deal with. They also have other players performing in his position and so any proposal to sign him ‘would be seen in a better light’.

The desire is to sell the Argentine in January and they ‘suspect that Aston Villa will return’ will return for him in the winter window, presumably with an improved offer that matches Sevilla’s demands.

Either way the Spanish side are now more open to a sale and getting rid of the left-back, who they now seemingly consider a problem to be solved.
